We’ve made it our mission to build a non-transient locally sourced workforce, heavily screened for suitability and experience. We require a minimum of a 2-month commitment from our people, and encourage longer term contracts, so that we are able to accommodate the cross seasonal needs of growers.  It’s our goal to create a team that work together frequently, to minimise the need for re-induction and maximise productivity.


The COVID-19 pandemic and the associated social distancing laws have seen the closure of many regional hostels and motels. In response to this, we have added the provision of temporary accommodation to our services at no cost to growers.

How does it work?

  1. If you have an empty piece of land on your property, we plot an area to house the tents and amenities and secure council approval.
  2. Every worker you hire through us will receive access to a single or double bell tent, comfortable mattress, bedding, linen, lighting and electricity, with all tents cleaned once a week.
  3. When we pay each employee on your behalf, we will deduct a small amount of money from each employee’s pay (less than $20 per day) to offset this cost.

Employee selection

We can look after some, or all of your workforce needs.  You may already have workers you use each season, and that’s great. We can help you fill in the gaps with a team we have hand Pick’d for you.


When it comes to farm work, some candidates are better suited than others. It’s our job to make sure you are getting the best of the bunch. Our screening process is tougher than most, with a requirement that candidates have permanent residency or Visa. We also handle police checks (if necessary) and medical assessments, including mitigating the risk of COVID-19.


Pick’d will execute employment contracts on your behalf and liaise with workers on terms, ensuring all arrangements meet fair work standards of the Horticulture Award.

Payroll and Payslips

Working in close partnership with you, we act as a facilitator and offer industry-leading technology for timesheet and payroll management. Once you approve your employees time and picking sheets, we will handle payment and Issue payslips on your behalf.
